Situated in the southwestern tip of Crete, 75 km from the city, is Elafonisi, an area of ​​outstanding natural beauty which is protected by the network Natura 2000. What stands out at Elafonisi are its turquoise waters and pink sand which got its color from the countless shells crushed here over the centuries.
